The other night, I was tucking Angela in for bed, and we were saying our prayers. They ended like this:
"...God bless Tanis, and Garrett, and Ava, and Guiy-gouy (her stuffed dog), and Mickey Mouse. Amen."
Don't you just love 3 year olds?

A Day at the Arboretum
We spent the afternoon at the Dallas Arboretum, followed by dinner at Red Robbin. It was a fun day, and I didn't want to overload my blog with the photos... so you can view them at our family website here (be sure to click on the "Play Slideshow" link for best results):

At dinner, we introduced Katie to what is known in our household as "crack-a-roni and cheese." I swear, there's something illegal they add to the mac 'n cheese at Red Robbin that makes our kids gobble it down!

Now and Then...and Way Back When

September 29, 2001
Wow, I can't believe it's been six years since our wedding day. So, now we're even - we've now been married for as long as we dated before we got hitched. That's right - we've been a couple for twelve years. Just the other day, I was flipping through an old photo album, and I realized just how young we were when we met. Houston looked like a little kid, and I looked like I should still be eating off the kid's menu (that one's for you, Joey).
Happy First Birthday Sixth Anniversary Extravaganza!
This past Saturday we celebrated Katie's first birthday....which also happens to be our anniversary as well! We usually spend our wedding anniversary at Chuck E. Cheese, but for Katie's sake we switched things up a bit and headed over to Macaroni Grill instead. Katie was completely fascinated by the crayons and the fact that we were actually encouraging her to color on the table, and she wiggled around in her high chair so much that by the end of the meal she was on the other side of the table!
The highlight of the evening was when the waiter sung Happy Birthday in Italian - both kids were enthralled! Angela was more than willing to blow out Katie's candle, and I was more than willing to taste the cake!

My Little Artist
I really love the fact that Angela is three. This is honestly such a fun age! One thing I really enjoy is how much her drawing ability has changed just over the past few months. She really enjoys drawing portraits. She currently has two nearly life-sized drawings hanging in our gallery (read: hallway), and I think she's really captured the essence of her dad and sister...

Just a Girl
This was the conversation Angela had on her pretend phone the other day - I just love listening in to her monologues when she's playing!
"Hello? Oh, hi friend!.... what, you have a fire in your house?.... I don't know. I'm just a little girl. You should call a fireman..... yes, because I only have one purse, and a fireman has five purses.... okay, bye."
